Lemon Water

Start your morning off right

I really enjoy starting my day off by drinking a warm cup of lemon water. Drinking this first thing in the morning, will defiantly start your day off right. It gives you an extra boost of energy to get your morning started.

Lemon water has a lot of health benefits.
  • helps with the appearance of your skin
  • helps with digestion
  • great source of vitamin C

I use fresh lemons, cut in half, and squeeze lemon into warm water. Enjoy!

LUSH Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub

Summer is over, but your facial scrub can take you to the beach any day! Who doesn't love a great face, and body scrub? I was kind of hesitant buying this product since it's kind of pricey - $21.95 for 4.2 oz. BUT I love Lush products. So, I was willing to give this a try. Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub is amazing!

I used it twice a week on my face - and it made my face super soft and glowy! The best part is it smells like a margarita, and contains vodka! My kind of beauty product :)

So Delicious Dairy Free Hazelnut Coconut Milk Creamer | Review

I am in love with So Delicious Dairy Free Hazelnut Coconut Milk Creamer. This is the perfect creamer for anyone who follows a Paleo lifestyle, or just doesn't use dairy products. I found this creamer at Wegman's in their Nature's Markeplace - one pint $2.29. I think it tastes better than regular dairy creamer!

Sweet Potato Hash | Paleo

Wednesday night at our house is breakfast night. Eating fried eggs, bacon, and all the typical breakfast foods can get a little old. While I was doing the Whole30 Challenge, there are a few breakfast items that I missed. Corned beef hash is so delicious, but so bad. Here's my modified Whole30/Paleo approved breakfast dish.
  • potato peeler
  • one large sweet potato
  • one teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 olive oil
  • salt and pepper - I don't measure this usually a few turns of each
  • one teaspoon garlic salt
  1. clean the sweet potato, and peel
  2. once the sweet potato is peeled cut into three pieces; this will help shredding the sweet potato
  3. shredding the sweet potato into a large bowl
  4. add the olive oil, salt and pepper, and paprika into the bowl of shredded sweet potato
  5. mix until the sweet potato mixture is covered in the olive oil mixture
  6. add the sweet potato mixture into a frying pan
  7. cook the sweet potato mixture until it is cooked to your liking; I prefer my sweet potato to be a little crispy
  8. next fry an egg, and top over the sweet potato hash
  9. enjoy!

Coconut Oil Hair Mask

So, what do girls do on a Saturday night when bored? A coconut hair mask - duh. Probably not really, but I did. I am addicted to Pinterest, and I see so many things that you can do with coconut oil. Not only can you cook with it, but there are a lot of beauty tricks too. Coconut oil can help maintain your lush locks, and help with the growth of your hair.

You will need the following:

  1. two tablespoons coconut oil (depending on how long your hair is you might need less)
  2. shower cap
  3. wide tooth comb
  4. bowl
  5. patience
The process:
  1. Heat the coconut oil in the microwave - with the amount I used I started at 10 seconds, and then checked to see the consistency. Since it wasn't in liquid form, I heated the oil for another ten seconds.
  2. Apply the oil to your hair - I started from the ends and worked my way to my scalp.
  3. Once your hair is fully coated, comb your hair to make sure you covered all of your hair.
  4. Cover your hair with the shower cap, and relax.
  5. Let the hair mask stay on overnight.
  6. Wash your hair the next morning with a good quality shampoo and conditioner. I used Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner.
My hair was really soft after doing the mask, but it was still kind of oily after I washed it. I haven't applied any heat to my hair since doing the mask on Saturday night, and have only washed it twice since then. It's now Wednesday. I would definitely recommend doing this, but make sure you don't have major plans over the weekend. Trying this again next month!
