It's All Good | Book Review

Let me start off by saying: I know Gwyneth Paltrow is the most hated celebrity. I actually really like her. Don't judge me. I get it, people don't like her. I mean who really can afford a $298 bathrobe, or be a mother and have time to have a body like hers? I certainly cannot afford to have cashmere rugs, and can't travel to France skincare products. BUT I can modify my diet to an extent, and eat healthy.

I purchased It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great at Target. I owned the book for less than 24 hours, and I wanted to make everything. This book talks about eat healthy, what to eat, and is very informative. The recipes are not hard, and don't call for crazy ingredients. Some of the recipes are very basic, simple, and easy. So, don't think these recipes will break the bank. Overall - don't hate! This book is wonderful, even if you are not a fan of GP.

Black Matte

If you are getting tired of the same nail polishes, I really recommend trying a matte polish instead. L'Oreal came out with a matte collection for Fall 2013, and I had to try the black matte polish (she's so matte 405). When getting your nails professionally manicured, do not get a top coat. This will take away from the matte finish.

Applied one base coat, and two top coats. This manicure lasted about four days. I highly recommend having a lemon juice around when you remove the polish! This will help prevent the stain on your nails after you remove the polish.

Dots + Oxfords

One of the best things about autumn is accessories. I love all the clothing you can layer! Polka dots are one of the hottest trends right now, so I had to get a pair of dotted tights from J.Crew. I got a lot of compliments, and I love how you can dress up, or dress down the perfect pair of oxfords!

Egg Carton Garden

I know it's fall, and you probably aren't thinking too much about gardening right now - BUT save your egg cartons! This is a fun, easy, and your toddler will LOVE this.

All you need is:
  • egg carton
  • potting soil
  • seeds
  • water
  • love

  1. Add potting soil to the egg carton
  2. Make holes for the seeds
  3. Add the seeds and cover
  4. Water
  5. Watch your seeds grow!

Keep your egg carton open, water daily, and make sure it gets plenty of sun! Once seeds have started to sprout you can either transfer into planters or the ground!

Such a fun craft to do with your toddler!

Paleo & 20 Weeks Pregnant

Good morning! So, today I am officially 20 weeks, and two days pregnant, and I am getting back on that Paleo wagon. The beginning of this year, I slowly started to learn about the Paleo lifestyle. No grains, dairy, sugar, legumes, and of course - NO OVER PROCESSED FOODS. Lots of lean meats, fish, veggies, and fruit. When I first heard about the Paleo lifestyle I didn't know if I could give up carbs, and dairy. The more I read about how to modify recipes using almond milk, coconut flour, and other natural ingredients the lifestyle change seemed a lot more interesting.

I gradually started to cut out dairy, which wasn't hard, and then gluten grains. April 26th I decided to do the Whole30 Challenge - which is Paleo to the extreme! The first few days were hard, but then it actually got really easy. After I completed the Whole30 Challenge in May, I got pregnant in June. I tried to maintain a Paleo lifestyle, but the morning sickness was rough. All I could think about was pizza, and horrible food. Now that I am past the morning sickness, I am ready to start the Paleo life again.

P.S. - it's not a diet!!

If you are looking to make this change here are a few websites that have wonderful recipes, tips, and suggestions.

Chevron Walls

I really like chevron print - a lot. So, back in early spring of this year, my husband and I started to do some home improvements. The first home improvement was chevron walls. Let me start off by saying - this was a very detailed improvement. Measuring the stripes was a pain in the butt, but after it was completed it was worth all the time. It was a whole weekend project, so make sure you don't have any plans!

Fall & Fringe

It's officially fall - and who doesn't like a great pair of fringe boots? I am obsessed with my Minnetonka Moccasins fringe boots, and my Crown Vintage fringe booties. These are not only great for fall, but they can be worn all seasons. You can dress them up with a dress, or you can wear them with a pair of denim cut off shorts.

Duped - Pureology Hydrate vs. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil

Let me first start off by saying I will splurge on the following three things: shoes, bags, and my hair. I have learned my lesson on skimping on products, and not getting the result I wanted, and then having to back and spend the extra money to have it done right. Things I don't splurge on is mostly my makeup.

So, after reading a review on Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner being a great dupe for Pureology Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner, I had to try it out. I mean $16 total for shampoo, and conditioner isn't a bad deal. Well, I will be going back to Pureology. Yes, it's $30 for a 8.5ml bottle, but I have the same bottle of shampoo, and conditioner FROM MARCH 2013. It is now October, and I finally have to buy more. Organix I have to use twice as much to conditioner in my hair. I only wash my hair twice a week with Pureology. With Organix I feel like my hair isn't the same, and I have to wash it more.

My review - I don't recommend Organix, but HIGHLY recommend Pureology!
