No Poo Shampoo Challenge

I think I am becoming granola - which is perfectly fine with me! :)

Finally decided to take the next step, and try the No Poo Challenge. I only wash my hair twice a week anyway, so I felt like I could easily jump into not using shampoo and conditioner. I decided last year that I wanted to take a beauty challenge, and stop over processing my hair. This included blow drying (which I only do maybe three times a month), straightening my hair, and coloring. Right now I have ombre hair - which I love! This has saved my bank account tons of money too!

Today will be the last day that I was my hair with regular shampoo, and conditioner. Everything I do requires planning, and a list. So, I went to Wegman's and bought all the items I needed before I started this. I have been really thinking about doing this challenge since October of 2013, but I still had so much shampoo to use!

I have heard mixed reviews on going No Poo. I guess the only thing that benefits me right now is - I don't wash my hair everyday. So, my hair is trained not to be washed on a regular basis. Also, I will home on maternity leave, so I am allowed to have a few bad hair days while starting the No Poo!

I have searched the internet for all the resources on going No Poo. Here are some wonderful websites on going No Poo:

  1. I began this no poo challenge mid December! I found my hair wasn't crazy or greasy mainly because I too didn't wash my hair daily beforehand! My hair had volume and wasn't as...sleek? Not sure how else to describe it! I think no poo has dried out some of my skin around my hairline/I'm still having breakouts issues so I'm still experimenting. Good luck! It's definitely cheaper than the Organix shampoo I used prior!

  2. I cannot wait to try it! I was able to train my hair to wash it only twice a week, so now I want to take the next step. I have heard so many good things too! I will keep you posted on it turns out! :)
