Composting

I love to garden - it's that simple. I became interested in gardening last year, and it is very relaxing! Last summer I wanted to start composing, but never got around to it. I thought it would very complicated, and expensive to start. Not so much. I read that you can compost with a basic plastic trash can. Works for me!

No Poo Shampoo Challenge

I think I am becoming granola - which is perfectly fine with me! :)

Finally decided to take the next step, and try the No Poo Challenge. I only wash my hair twice a week anyway, so I felt like I could easily jump into not using shampoo and conditioner. I decided last year that I wanted to take a beauty challenge, and stop over processing my hair. This included blow drying (which I only do maybe three times a month), straightening my hair, and coloring. Right now I have ombre hair - which I love! This has saved my bank account tons of money too!

Rose Sugar Scrub

Who doesn't love a great sugar scrub - especially the kind you can make? The other day I found the perfect, easy, and cheap sugar scrub you can make at home! You only three ingredients, a food processor, and a jar.

Let's Get Crafty - T-Shirt Yarn

Give me all your used t-shirts!! Sike. I just went through the donation pile of my hubby's old t-shirts, and decided to make t-shirt yarn (minus the pink t-shirt yarn)! After reading a few blogs, and watching a really good video on how-to, I decided to cut up some t's. There are SO MANY things you can do with t-shirt yarn. Jewelry, rugs, baskets, headbands, pillows, and so many other things.

It was a snow day in Northern Virginia today, so it was a perfect day for coffee and crafts. I really want to make an upcycle rug from old t-shirts. T-shirt yarn is the perfect craft to do on a day you can't do much outside, and it's really easy. All you need are old t's, and scissors. It takes about ten minutes per t-shirt to cut, and roll into a yarn ball.

Paleo Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Since I have the day off, I decided to bake some Paleo Apple Cinnamon Muffins. This recipe looked very simple, and I had all the ingredients. I am getting tired of eating eggs and bacon, and wanted to switch up my morning breakfast.

I found the recipe on PaleOMG http://paleomg.com/apple-cinnamon-muffins/#.ULQxxSqNj5U.pinterest, and the muffins were super easy to make. The whole house smells like cinnamon too!

Morning Skin Care Routine

My morning skin care routine is very simple, and basic. Since I wash my face at night, I use gentle cleanser for my face. After I have washed my face, I follow that with toner, moisturizer, and last an eye cream.

I am in love with Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. This is very gentle, and smells like the cucumber water that you get when you go to Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. I didn't want to buy the larger size in this cleanser, because I wasn't sure if it would break me out. I didn't have this problem with this cleanser. After I wash, and pat dry my skin, and use Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3. This is not a lotion, but a toner. Even though I use this at night, I still use it in the morning to make sure I get all makeup out of my pores. The toner is nice, and refreshing, but toner is toner to me. I follow that with Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer. This moisturizer is AMAZING. It is so refreshing, goes on so smooth, and smells so good! The last thing I apply is Clinique All About Eyes Rich. I really haven't noticed a big change around my eyes, but it has helped with the cold winter skin I have had. I don't know if I would buy this again, but I would like to try a different eye cream.

I really wanted to love Clinique, but I don't get all the hype over it. Fresh, and Origin products are really impressive, and I think I will just stick to buying their brand.
