Chocolate Strawberry Banana Smoothie

I started my morning off with a chocolate, strawberry, banana smoothie. Let me tell you, this is the best smoothie I have made yet. If you love chocolate with bananas or strawberries, this is the perfect combo!

  • 1 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 handful of frozen strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon maca poweder
  • 1 tablespoon raw chocolate cacao powder
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk

Mix everything together in a blender, and enjoy!

Carrot Orange Lemon Juice

Thinking of warm weather drinking this juice loaded full of vitamins, and antioxidants! With all the snow we had last week, I decided to make some fresh juice.

  • one orange
  • one blood orange
  • 1/2 lemon
  • three carrots
  • a small piece of ginger
  • 6oz of water (I used Fiji Water)

Juice all the fruits, and veggies and then add your water. I stored this overnight in the fridge, and enjoyed it this afternoon. It was really good too!

Trader Joe's Haul

Trader Joe's is my weakness {insert dollar bill flying emoji here} - I cannot not go into this store without buying something I don't need. Need vs. Want struggle is real here, people. They always somehow trick me into buying something not on my grocery list.

I like to rotate my grocery stores - Trader Joe's, COSTCO, and Wegman's. Yesterday after work, I went to Trader Joe's and picked up a cart full of goodies! Their almond butter is the best, and their organic produce is great! If you haven't tried their Chile Lime Chicken Burgers - you need to! They are amazing, and great for when you don't want to do a lot of cooking!

Paleo Hot Chocolate

When you have a snow day, you should make Paleo hot chocolate. I made it using some of the basic ingredients I had in our pantry. You can add more honey, or vanilla if you want it sweeter, but I think the marshmallows made it perfect!
  • one can full fat coconut milk
  • 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder (I used this brand)
  • 1.5 teaspoons raw honey
  • 1 cap full of vanilla
  1. Add your full fat coconut milk to a saucepan on low heat
  2. Add all the ingredients above to the coconut milk and whisk on low heat, until warm
  3. You can top this hot chocolate with paleo marshmallows! I used The Urban Poser's recipe to make the marshmallows!

Growing Microgreens | SeedsNow

While I am waiting to start my seeds for my outdoor garden, I have decided to start an indoor micro garden!

I picked up the following seed packets from SeedsNow
  • Wheat Grass
  • Mustard Sprouts
  • Watercress Sprouts
  • Clover Sprouts
  • I also picked up an Oxheart Pink Tomato - not part of my indoor garden :)
I am really excited to add these microgreens to salads, and I cannot wait to try the wheat grass in some smoothies!

Stretch it OUT | Hero Pose

I don't always to inversion - sike. Yes, I do. I do headstands daily, it keeps me balanced - duh.

But, really though, let me tell you about Hero Pose. This feels AMAZING on your legs - and back. This is a great way to stretch before, and after running! It's also great to do before, and after a great leg day.

Love shopping at COSTCO for all my Paleo needs. I love to stock up on meat, avocado oil, and bulk veggies there.

I absolutely love that COSTCO has more and more organic and NON-GMO food. This something I always look for while shopping. Sometimes I cannot find organic options on veggies, but I try to get everything I can organic.

I am trying to keep my grocery budget around $220 every two weeks. This does not include household items. This shopping trip was $107! Not bad for all this food!! Also, everything pictured below is Whole30 approved!

Scorpion Pose | Backbends

Hello, yoga mat! How I have missed you! It feels amazing to get back onto the mat! I took a short break while doing Whole30. Too much stuff to focus on, and I don't want to stress myself out with so many challenges.

Backbends are the ultimate worst thing for me. I am not a fan, but that is my goal in 2015. I want to get better at leaning back - way back. So, I was practicing my forearm balance yesterday, and decided to try a little Scorpion Pose. This felt AMAZING on my back. I love using the wall for support - it helps me with balancing, and it's always there when I fall out of the pose!

Can't wait to keep practicing this, and getting bendy with this!

Lemon Roasted Chicken Thighs

Last night I made a really simple chicken thigh dinner. I just threw everything together with the items we had in the fridge.

  • two pounds of chicken thighs with skin
  • one lemon - sliced
  • one onion - sliced
  • avocado oil
  • salt and pepper
  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. add your chicken thighs to your baking dish
  3. drizzle with avocado oil (you can use whatever oil you like)
  4. place your lemon slices and onion slices overtop the chicken thighs
  5. season with salt and pepper
  6. bake for 45 minutes
  7. enjoy!

So simple and easy!!

Healthy Eats | Target

Who doesn't love spending HOURS at Target? Going to Target is like a mini vacation.

While I was there I picked up some kombucha, tea, turkey bacon, coconut water, and my new favorite LARABAR - apple pie!

Target is the best!

Target Beauty Finds

When I started blogging, I only blogged about beauty and fashion. After starting to eat Paleo, I fell in love with writing about food, staying healthy, and gardening. I have gotten away from posting my beauty finds, but I want to share what I use.

Last year I threw away all of my makeup that contained tons of chemicals, and that wasn't cruelty free. I cleaned house and threw away soaps, shampoos and conditioners, and the normal household cleaning products.

It makes me happy that Target offers alternative products that I can trust in my house. We love using Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Shea Butter Soap. This is my go-to bar of soap - and the whole family uses it. It doesn't dry out your skin like other soaps. They stand behind no animal testing, natural and organic, and they use ethically sourced ingredients.

Another great find is Nourish Organic body lotion in Lavender Mint. This body lotion smells AMAZING. It is so calming and relaxing, and goes on really smooth. Their products are 100% chemical free, vegan, Leaping Bunny approved, gluten free, and organic - just to name a few.

Say Yes to Carrots is another brand I really like. I am not the girl that continually uses the same face wash. I like to try new brands, and then I go back to ones that I really like. Say Yes to Carrots is one that I have used in the past, and really have zero complaints. Their Daily Cream Face Cleanser is a great morning face wash. Their product is 96% natural, petroleum and paraben free, and cruelty free!

If you are out, and see some of these products, you should give them a try!

What's in my Bag | Healthy Snacking

The mornings can be a little crazy getting a four-year-old, and an eleven-month-old out of the house before 6am. Some mornings are easier than others, but I am always prepared to have healthy snack options. Does anyone else have a four-year-old that makes at least two outfit changes before leaving the house?!

This morning I packed an apple, orange, an EPIC Bar (which has 13g of protein!!), and a Live Kombucha Soda. I always have that 3pm craving, and to stay on track I always have something on hand!

Love my easy snack options!
